My Heart's in Hiding -- Valentine socks
http://thedottydline.blogspot.com/2008/02/finished-socks-for-valentines-day.html
Stockinette socks with a picot top and one lonely heart knitted into the top of the second sock's foot.
Yarn - KnitPicks Bare Superwash Merino/worsted weight, hand-dyed by me, using Cherry and Pink Lemonade drink mixes and my microwave
Pattern - just your basic stockinette sock, worked over 44 stitches for the cuff, and decreased to 40 stitches after knitting a heel flap and gusset. A 6 round picot edge was knitted into the top as the socks were knitted from the cuff, downward, using a provisional crochet cast-on. The toe was knit using these instructions......... www.socknitters.com/lessons/toes.htm
and the chart for the heart can be found here.......... minnaproductions.blogspot.com/2005/08/hearts-and-stripes....
(scroll down to the middle of the page)
Needle - size U.S. 5, KnitPicks options interchangeable needle with 32 inch cable, employing the Magic Loop method.
