Knitted Beret, or Slouch Hat

Just finished this last night for DD. Made from double strands of Cascade Baby Alpaca Chunky, in grey. The pattern is the "Star Crossed Slouchy Beret" : http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/star-crossed-slouchy-beret

I'm reasonably happy with the way it turned out. For the ribbed band I used one strand of worsted wool along with one strand of the alpaca, but next time would knit in some elastic. I'm going to either go back and sew in some elastic, or unknit the band, and knit it back *down* with a thin strand of elastic. But, for now, DD likes it well enough. It traveled to Seattle for a day in town - to see the Michelangelo exhibit at the Seattle Art Museum, to Pike Place Market, the Levi's store, and Magic Mouse.
