She knits these insanely intricate coats, skirts, and dresses. Simply for the fact that she knits them, they’re bespoke; however, these outfits are beyond just custom.
It’s because she works entirely free-form. That’s right; she works by feel and not by pattern. Judgment, not a predetermined shape, guides her needles. We always prided ourselves that each one of our little people acquired of a personality of its own, but we now stand in awe; the pieces she creates transform these personalities into real characters. We admit; we’ve been schooled.
In light of the incredible amount of time, effort, and creativity that goes into her knit outfits, only a select few Little People will wear them. And even though they command a premium, we’re still not charging as much as they cost. In other words, she’s doing it for the love.
Sure, they cost a bit more; however, remember this: You get what you pay for. And in this case you get a lot.

This is something I just became aware of, and it sounds great. What a wonderful way to "connect" and to do good.
"An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet regardless of time, place or circumstance.
The thread may stretch or tangle, but it will never break." -Chinese proverb
"The Red Thread Project® is community art made by the community for the community. Hundreds of youths and adults knit and crochet hats; attach the hats to a ½ mile long knitted red thread; wear the hats in a simple performance / dance; exhibit the hats and, finally, donate the hats to local charities including those assisting cancer patients, foster children, the elderly and the homeless.
The Red Thread Project® celebrates community connections, both visible and invisible, while encouraging and fostering individual creativity. Since its inception in 2004, over 5,000 hats have been donated to charities in Terre Haute, IN, Memphis, TN, Grand Rapids, MI and St. Louis, MO.
For the school year 2010-2011, The Red Thread Project® will be at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, IL. Join the fun! Make a hat. Teach another to knit or crochet. Take part in the performance. There are many ways in which you may become involved.

The dress looks shop bought up close so we wanted a photo of simular quality that kept the emphesis on the dress and that also keep in the knitted and stary theme. The post production work on this was around 7 hours but well worth it =]

This is Luke. He's a cancerous cell, made especially for my friend Amanda, who came out of remission this year. She was very upbeat, but still wanted something -physical- she could beat the crap out of when she was feeling down. Thus, Luke was born...and I'm happy to say that she's in remission once again!

Fair Isle Gloves
These are so beautiful! I am admittedly not a fair isle knitter, preferring lace and cable work (texture knitting). But, I can always hugely appreciate good fair isle from other knitters.
I did take a workshop about 18 years ago, from Alice Starmore, which was wonderful!
