I really don't know how I missed this three years ago! Here's another great knitty image from Bumbershoot 2006:

Monorail Sweatered!

whaddup knitta?, originally uploaded by brian glanz.

Went to Bumbershoot yesterday, and had a great time. While I didn't knit, I became curious about anything knitworthy to do with Seattle and/or this festival.

Here are the notes to go with this image:

"whaddup knitta?

superfriends Knitta (http://www.knittaplease.com/ABOUT.html) tagged seattle monorail column 7 with 15 meters of knits donated by their mailing list, seen during our local bumbershoot (http://www.bumbershoot.org/) festival, 2006. the cozy vandals have hit cities, and turned corners of stubborn mouths upward, http://flickr.com/photos/knittaplease/sets/ (flickr).

note: tree branches were shopped out of this shot as discussed here."

Felted cow potholder - recto

Photo note:

"My first attempt at double-knitting (the front & back are knit at the same time, making a double layer of fabric, with one side the inverse of the other). Cascade 220."

Felted cow potholder - verso

Photo note:

"The first picture taken with my new camera (Sony CyberShot DSC W-50). The blurriness of the brown stititches is a result of the felting process. White/cream yarns don't felt as well as others, so there is a bit more stitch definition on the other side".

City Slicker

Okay, I'm loving these cows. For more info:

"Pattern: Cowboy designed by Barbara Prime
Pattern Source: FuzzyMitten.com
Yarn: Cascade 220 in colors #8010 (main body color), #8622 (horns, hooves, nostrils, and mouth), and #8021 (face)
Needles: US 6 DPNs

This guy was so easy to make! I knit all the pieces in the round which was super easy to do, and it saved a lot of time. You can see his face details a lot easier on the full sized image. blogged:

This looks gorgeous, too. I love the color variations, and can imagine a vest, or entire simple pullover sweater. . .

Flor - leopardo (blackberry lilly )

Is this not gorgeous? I can just imagine a cardigan made from these colors, maybe some fair isle. . .

Photographer's note:

"This is a blackberry lily, Belamcanda chinensis. They are called blackberry lilies because the fruit superficially resembles that of a blackberry."

More great sock fiber!

Fleece Artist Trail Socks Blackberry

Socks! Tis the season to start thinking about those socks. It's still warm, but as those mornings and evening begin to cool down, what better way to extend sandal season by adding a great pair of handknit socks to the equation!

JJ's Speciality Yarns Montage Brushed Mohair - Blackberry

Ooh, it's been awhile!

It's blackberry season around here, and I'm busy making blackberry cordial, jam, jelly, etc. So, I got to thinking about blackberry yarn. Such rich color!
